Impact
Born in Mumbai, Dr Avantika Bhardwaj grew up moving across 13 cities in 8 countries worldwide; from the organised chaos of India and Nigeria to the serene landscapes of Jamaica and Ireland, from the rich cuisine of South Africa and Bangladesh to the vibrant energy of the USA and UK. Each culture and community has strengthened her resilience.

She matriculated from Pretoria High School for Girls in South Africa in 2014, and enrolled for a Bachelor of Science and Minors at Purdue University in 2015 to explore how the human body moves and thinks. She deepened her understanding of how evidence drives innovations with a Master of Science at the University of Glasgow in 2019. To explore how to make innovations work in the real world, she created new knowledge and frameworks through her PhD at the University of Limerick in 2025. Together, her qualifications support her passion: driving innovations in the real world using evidence.
